What we do

Mobile Community Center for IDPs

Our program is being implemented in IDP camps in Myanmar through a mobile community center. The center provides accessible learning and well-being opportunities for displaced families and youth. We offer training for community resilience and skill building, including leadership training and parenting education for young mothers. The mobile library creates spaces for learning and connection through reading clubs, movie clubs, and storytelling sessions for young people. For younger children, we provide a mobile playroom that supports safe play and growth. In addition, the program promotes well-being and healing by using traditional practices—such as dance—to help community members cope with trauma and stress.

Youth-led Research

Our Youth Research Program at UI encourages young people to develop essential research skills while exploring the challenges within their communities. Through this program, we empower youth to identify and investigate local issues, enabling them to propose practical solutions rooted in their unique perspectives. By fostering critical thinking and hands-on research experience, the program helps participants build a deeper understanding of their communities' needs and equips them with the tools to drive positive change. Through this initiative, we aim to nurture the next generation of leaders who are capable of addressing complex social issues with creativity and evidence-based solutions.

Youth Leadership for Peacebuilding

This program is designed to equip young people with the essential skills and knowledge they need to pursue their dreams, even in difficult circumstances. It creates opportunities for continuous learning and growth through both formal education with structured academic systems and alternative approaches outside the classroom. With a primary focus on social sciences, the program emphasizes the core values of peacebuilding, equality, and respect for the dignity of all individuals. It also fosters collective leadership, encouraging youth to collaborate and take shared responsibility in addressing community challenges. Through this initiative, we aim to inspire and empower young people to overcome obstacles and contribute to building a better future.
